Borinken Tax
Do you offer appointments in Spanish?

Yes — Aurie is bilingual and fluent in English and Spanish, and will explain every step of your return in whichever of the two you are most comfortable with. Sí, hablamos español.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

It depends on your situation, but the essentials are a photo ID, Social Security cards for you and your dependents, all income forms (W-2s, 1099s), last year’s return if we did not prepare it, and your bank info for direct deposit. We have a full printable checklist on our Resources page.

How much does it cost?

Pricing is based on the forms and work required to prepare your return, so every return is different. We will review your tax situation and let you know the price before your return is filed. Our fee is for the tax preparation services and work performed, not based on the amount of your refund or the final outcome of the return. Once the return has been prepared and filed, preparation fees are non-refundable. If an issue comes up after filing, we will review it with you and discuss the available next steps.

Can you do my taxes if I live outside Indianapolis?

Absolutely. We serve clients in all 50 states virtually through secure document upload, video consultation, and electronic signature — so you can work with Aurie from anywhere.

Can I get an advance on my refund?

Yes. Through our partnership with EPS / Pathward (a Member FDIC bank), eligible filers can receive a taxpayer advance loan of up to $7,500 on their expected refund, with $0 up front and no-cost options for many qualifying clients. Approval is subject to underwriting.

I got a letter from the IRS — can you help?

Send it to us for review. Aurie can review the notice, explain what it means, and help determine the next step. Borinken Tax handles many common notices, amendments, prior-year filings, and certain IRS matters — what we handle depends on the individual situation. If the case needs specialized representation or collection assistance, we will explain your options and help you get to the right professional. Either way, don’t ignore the letter — these are easier to sort out the sooner someone looks at them.

What if I haven’t filed in a few years?

You’re not alone, and it’s fixable. We regularly help clients catch up on multiple years of unfiled tax returns. Once the returns are completed, we’ll explain what comes next. If the situation requires specialized tax-debt or collection assistance, we can help connect you with the appropriate professional. The first step is simply reaching out.

Do you prepare taxes for small businesses and LLCs?

Yes — business tax filings, Schedule C self-employment returns, partnership returns, LLC formation, estimated taxes, and ongoing tax-related questions. We will explain what applies to your business and help you stay organized throughout the year.

Are you available year-round, or just during tax season?

Year-round, by appointment. Tax season may end, but the support doesn’t. Whether it’s a mid-year IRS notice, a quarterly estimate, or a question about a big life change, you don’t have to wait until the next tax season to reach out.

How do I book an appointment?

Borinken Tax is appointment-based year-round. The fastest way is to book online through our scheduling system, or call us at (317) 551-1716. During tax season, appointments are available Monday through Saturday from 9 AM to 8 PM, and on Sunday by appointment. We will confirm your appointment and let you know exactly what to bring.
